Sales EFG 2-2i and 3-3i

Jungheinrich has launched the new EFG 2/2i and EFG 3/3i electric counterbalanced forklift series. Offering up to 15% better space efficiency, enhanced ergonomics, advanced safety features and tailored performance, the new range delivers efficient material handling for loads up to 2.0 tonnes.

Jungheinrich has officially launched the new EFG 2/2i and EFG 3/3i electric counterbalanced forklift trucks, introducing a completely redesigned 48-volt generation for load capacities of up to 2.0 tonnes. Available to order from 15 July 2026, the new series combines outstanding compactness, flexible performance options, superior operator comfort and intelligent safety technologies to maximise productivity in modern warehouses.

Developed using customer feedback from more than 170,000 forklifts sold worldwide, the new models are designed to help businesses improve operational efficiency while preparing for the future of intralogistics.

The EFG 2/2i range features highly manoeuvrable three-wheel forklifts with load capacities from 1.4 to 2.0 tonnes, while the EFG 3/3i four-wheel range covers capacities from 1.6 to 2.0 tonnes.

"With these new series, we have developed trucks that are consistently tailored to the real-world requirements of the warehouse – from compactness and ergonomics right through to performance," says Marek Scheithauer, Global Portfolio Lead for Counterbalance Light Trucks at Jungheinrich.

Maximum efficiency in compact spaces

Designed to optimise warehouse space, the new forklift series delivers up to 15% better space efficiency through a reduced turning radius, integrated lithium-ion battery and compact vehicle architecture.

Compared to previous models, the turning circle has been reduced by up to 300 mm, allowing operators to work more efficiently in narrow aisles, loading bays and confined production environments while lowering overall space requirements.

Performance tailored to every operation

The EFG 2/2i and 3/3i series introduces three performance variants to suit different applications:

  • efficiencyPLUS – Ideal for moderate handling requirements.
  • drive&liftPLUS – A balanced all-round solution for everyday operations.
  • performancePLUS – Designed for intensive handling applications, delivering maximum productivity through permanent-magnet synchronous motors, optimised hydraulics and enhanced energy efficiency.

The trucks also feature a modular energy concept, supporting integrated lithium-ion batteries in capacities of 346 Ah, 460 Ah and 690 Ah, conventional lead-acid batteries, or preparation for future fuel cell operation.

Enhanced comfort for operators

Operator wellbeing has been a key focus throughout the redesign. A larger footwell with approximately 100 mm of additional legroom, a lower entry height and an ergonomically optimised steering column help reduce fatigue during long shifts.

A newly engineered vibration-isolated cab reduces noise levels to just 63 dB(A), while the new Human Machine Interface (HMI), featuring a 4.3-inch touchscreen and redesigned controls, provides intuitive and efficient operation.

Intelligent safety built in

The new angled B-pillar significantly improves rear visibility by reducing reversing blind spots by up to 65%, addressing one of the most common causes of industrial truck accidents.

Additional visibility improvements include a lower dashboard and an optional panoramic roof, giving operators clearer views of loads and rack positions.

Customers can also choose from a range of advanced driver assistance systems, including AI-supported addedVIEW person detection, zoneCONTROL collision protection and the optional SmartStripe LED light strip, which clearly communicates braking, direction of travel, warning signals and battery status.

Standard connectivity enables real-time fleet monitoring, predictive maintenance and remote diagnostics, helping reduce downtime, shorten repair times and lower operating costs.

Initially, the drive&liftPLUS variant is available to order, with the efficiencyPLUS and performancePLUS models joining the range during 2027.

"The new EFG 2/2i and 3/3i series combine measurable productivity benefits with high investment security and future-proofing. In this way, we help our customers organise their internal processes efficiently today whilst ensuring they are equipped to meet tomorrow's requirements," concludes Marek Scheithauer.
