Jungheinrich is expanding its logistics footprint in Southern Europe with the opening of a new Regional Distribution Centre in Milan, enhancing spare parts availability, delivery speed, and sustainability.
ngheinrich Service & Parts is strengthening its logistics network in Southern Europe with the opening of a new Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) in Milan on 13 April 2026. The new facility marks a significant step in expanding regional spare parts supply while improving service levels, response times, and overall efficiency in after-sales logistics.
The RDC Milan plays a central role in the strategic development of Jungheinrich’s international Customer Service Logistics Network in Europe. Under the logistical leadership of Frank Knobloch, Director Logistics Jungheinrich, the site will serve as the main hub for supplying the Italian market with spare parts. Its proximity to customers enables shorter delivery routes and improved availability in daily operations.
A key benefit of the new centre is the significant improvement in cut-off times for technician orders. Orders can now be placed later in the day and still be processed for same-day dispatch. This results in faster delivery to service technicians and customers, enhancing responsiveness and operational efficiency.
“With the RDC Milan, we are bringing our spare parts logistics closer to the market and laying the foundations for improved service levels. Later cut-off times and shorter distances enable us to respond more quickly and reliably to customer requirements,” says Kevin Strominski, Logistics Network Project Manager at Jungheinrich.
Sustainability is another major advantage of the new site. By reducing transport distances, the RDC Milan contributes to a measurable decrease in CO₂ emissions and supports Jungheinrich’s broader environmental goals. The optimised logistics network significantly lowers transport-related emissions compared to previous supply structures.
In addition to environmental benefits, the RDC also delivers economic value. The improved network structure reduces transport, handling, and process costs while increasing supply chain stability and predictability. Demand-driven stock positioning and more efficient processes create long-term cost advantages without compromising quality or availability.
With the RDC Milan, Jungheinrich continues to build a future-ready logistics network that combines customer focus, operational efficiency, and sustainability. The new centre represents another important milestone in developing scalable and resilient spare parts logistics in Southern Europe.
