National Technical Trainer and Troubleshooter

Position Overview:

The Technical Trainer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of technical employees. They play a critical role in bridging the gab between complex technical concepts and practical application, ensuring that learners acquire the necessary competencies to excel in their roles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Training Program Development:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and objectives.
  • Design and develop training materials, including instructional guides, presentations, hands-on exercises, and assessments.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure training content remains current and relevant.

2. Training Delivery:

  • Conduct classroom-style, virtual, or on-the-job training sessions to individuals or groups.
  • Adapt training delivery methods to accommodate different learning styles and audience needs.
  • Provide clear explanations of complex technical concepts and procedures, ensuring understanding and knowledge retention.

3. Training Evaluation and Improvement:

  • Assess training effectiveness through evaluations, quizzes, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Analyze training metrics and participant performance to identify areas of improvement.
  • updating training materials and curricula based on feedback, emerging technologies, and changing organizational needs.
  • Continuously enhance training delivery techniques to increase learner engagement and knowledge transfer.
  • EE skills and development training and support.
  • Reporting on progress on EE skills and development training.

4. Collaboration and Support:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including instructional designers, subject matter experts, and training coordinators, to ensure seamless training program execution.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to learners during and after training sessions.
  • Answer learner questions, concerns, and technical difficulties promptly and professionally.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and knowledge sharing.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, feedback and assessment scores.
  • Prepare training reports and summaries to evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of training documentation, such as user manuals, job aids, and training catalogues. 

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Proven experience as technical trainer at least 1 - 3 years.
  • Technical N2 certificate
  • Technical Matric
  • Relevant trade test certification
  • ETDP certification
  • Electrical and Hydraulic knowledge
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge of industrial equipment
  • Computer literacy, basic skills on Microsoft Office, e.g. Word, Excel, Internet and Email
  • Proven flexibility and strong work ethic
  • Displays a strong ability to work under pressure
  • Team player and can work alone, self-starter
